Who We Are
We are an independent bookshop in the heart of Gapyeong, South Korea, born from a love of books, stories, and meaningful human connections. We bring together a thoughtfully curated collection of English and Korean books for adults and children, alongside a cozy corner for coffee, conversation, and discovery. We believe a bookshop should be more than shelves filled with books. It should be a place where curiosity is encouraged, ideas are exchanged, children are free to wonder, and people from different backgrounds can find something that speaks to them.
What We Envision
At Luka’s, we are building more than a bookshop; we are growing a community, one book and one conversation at a time. Through storytelling sessions, reading circles, creative workshops, cultural gatherings, and everyday encounters over coffee, we hope to create opportunities for people to learn, connect, and inspire one another. Our vision is to make Luka’s a small but vibrant cultural home where literature, creativity, and human connection meet; a place that celebrates different languages, cultures, and perspectives, nurtures a lifelong love of reading, and reminds us that some of the most meaningful things in life begin with a simple story or conversation.
